Full marks to Supaswap for covering all the angles when setting up their on line selling and swapping site for the 8 to 18 year olds. Not only did they do their research well, they also built a strong base via a Facebook logo competition that attracted 300 imaginative entries.
By the time their website was launched some 3,000 had begun following them via Facebook and Twitter. As for keeping the interest on track, they had an unusual solution to that, start a sports arm, Supaswap Sports, and sponsor two rising sports car drivers. David Moore may be just 15 and only slightly older than sister Sarah but both are making their mark on the Ginetta Junior Chmpionship for 14 to 17 year olds in the 1800 cc class.
Supaswap are setting a cracking pace in the social media world and blazing a trail for a new and innovative way to promote a business.

In a musical melting pot like Tenerife there is always room for new sounds and sailing over the horizon we have the new radio station Pirate FM with its treasure chest of classic rock.
Managers Paul Graham and Dave West have spotted a gap in the Tenerife market and along with their fellow presenters are already serving up classic rock to the west and south coasts. Both have a wide background in radio, between them they have been at more stations than Thomas the Tank Engine, and worked together at Radio Caroline. Paul can also include Radio Leicester, Invicta Radio and even Radio Latvia among his stops, while Dave can add Swansea Sound and Radio Northsea.
Completing the team is Head of Sales and Marketing Clare Harper, she has swapped 7 years of island life in Jersey for Tenerife. Also with a vast experience of commercial radio, Clare worked with Channel 103 Radio in Jersey. With the volcanic dust delaying Paul and Dave for the launch party at El Faro in Costa Adeje, Clare fronted the evening. It takes a lot to phase Clare, she started out with a keen interest in drama and has appeared in Holby City and in some pop promos.
Keep both ears open for the Pirate FM sound on 88.6 FM and 99.7 FM. For a full programme schedule and contact details call up the website at www.piratefm.biz Welcome aboard.
